Happy birthday Whopper. To celebrate, a wax burger has been created and put on display for the entire world to enjoy: Museum's Burger King Whopper is wax.
Burger King's signature sandwich was put on the menu at Times Square's Madame Tussauds museum Thursday, making it the first food item ever immortalized in wax.
Here are some Whopper facts:
- What: A grilled quarter-pound beef patty, sesame seed bun, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and sliced onion.
- When: Created in 1957 and sold for 37 cents. Today's price: $3.89.
- Health: Each Whopper has 670 calories and 11 grams of saturated fat. It weighs 7.8 ounces.
- Fun facts: Australians can order their Whoppers with a fried egg on top. In Japan, Burger Kings offer a Whopper Teriyaki, which has teriyaki sauce instead of ketchup.
