Fire on 'Righteous Kill' Set

Hopefully, your scene was in the "can".

From Variety:

There were no injuries in an early Thursday morning fire on the location set of Robert De Niro-Al Pacino starrer "Righteous Kill" in Bridgeport, Conn.

Director Jon Avnet had wrapped lensing for the night inside the Mechanics and Farmers Bank before the fire broke out about 4 a.m., said Nu Image/Millennium Films, which is producing the pic.

No one was at the scene. An electrical charger was said to have caused the fire.

"We are just happy that no one was hurt. Some equipment was damaged but it can all be replaced. We are on schedule," Nu Image's Avi Lerner said.

Shooting on Thursday was moved to another location. Principal photography on the film, about two New York City cops tracking down a vigilante who might be another cop, is set to be completed Oct. 23.

Overture will distribute the pic in North America. It is set for release in 2008.
